Partnerships that help artists and educators meet their own local
challenges have been formed with groups and organizations in South
Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Japan, Jamaica and the Middle East. Recent
projects include:
United Arab Emirates University
CAT's ELTA program led two weeks of workshops at the UAEU in Al Ain, introducing undergraduate
students to the use of student-centered, interactive drama in the early
childhood classroom. Additional outreach included professional development for
both University professors and TESOL teachers, in-class work with students in
local elementary schools, as well as meetings with University and Ministry of
Education representatives.

For the project culmination, a cohort of CAT members traveled to the UK to meet the other companies and participate in a festival of workshops and performances.

Project Japan
The Society of Children's Theatre Works and Community Development in the Kyushu-Okinawa region brought CAT to Japan to introduce the concept of educational theatre. The Society hopes to build future training programs in theatre-in-education and youth theatre processes.

The Bilateral Educational Support through Theatre Project was a partnership with four South African universities. CAT collaborated with educators, artists and healthcare workers to offer training that would help address pressing issues, including literacy and community health and wellness.
