Edith's Place provides business clothing exclusively to CUNY COPE and P.O.I.S.E.D. for Success students. Founded in April 2007 by Carolyn Everett, Executive Director of CUNY Economic Development Corporation, the project is named after Ms. Everett's mother, who was a CUNY trustee for many years and championed efforts to help CUNY students in their career development. Services are provided by appointment only for COPE and P.O.I.S.E.D. students who either are scheduled for a job interview or have recently obtained employment. All students must be referred by their program staff. Edith's Place stocks a wide range of brand new, business-appropriate clothing items, shoes and accessories for women and men. Students are assisted by Edith's Place staff to select the appropriate outfit, and every effort is made to ensure that merchandise selected suits their individual tastes, is appropriate and feels comfortable. For further details, contact your campus P.O.I.S.E.D. Director. Edith's Place is housed in NY Designs on the campus of LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens.
