INTRODUCTION

The CUNY Justice Academy, an “Educational Partnership” program, was developed to provide access to a number of John Jay’s unique, justice-related majors for students not granted direct admission to the College as freshmen. All participating students who satisfy the program requirements – including all applicable CUNY requirements related to skills and proficiencies – will be admitted to John Jay with junior status.

As program requirements vary to some degree by partner campus, we encourage you to contact the community college or colleges at which you would like to begin your journey to John Jay. In general, you will be expected to take all specified courses in the Criminal Justice major at that campus and finish 60 credits with a grade point average of 2.0 or better (also a condition of receiving an associate degree at CUNY).

Each of our partners is already engaged in advising Criminal Justice majors enrolled at their campus, and you would receive the same services following registration. While you are still at the stage of choosing a school, you might contact one of the staff members listed below if you have general questions.
