About Center: The City College Performing Arts Center provides facilities for Aaron Davis Hall on the south campus at 135th street and Convent Avenue, adjacent to the stunning new home of the Spitzer School of Architecture. The Performing Arts Center houses 3 theatres, the 750 seat Marian Anderson Theatre, a 175 seat flexible black box experimental theatre, and a 75 seat rehearsal studio theatre. All theatres are fully equipped with state of the art lights and sound systems. This modern facility has been a focal point of the performing arts in Harlem since 1979. The City College Performing Arts Center is the only cultural facility of its kind between Lincoln Center and Harlem. It schedules a year round calendar of multicultural performance by professionals, community groups, and students, all open to the public. The CCPAC performances include classical, jazz, Latin music, dance, theatre, literary readings, film festivals, Hip Hop and solo performance. The facility hosts fully-staged productions, large-scale musicals, and smaller productions by the theatre and music departments, as well as, readings of original works, and intimate performances. We have a long history of community outreach and making our spaces available for community events. Rentals are considered upon request.

The Frederick Loewe Theatre

About Center: The Frederick Loewe Theatre is a 50' x 54' black box performance space where most of the Department's productions are rehearsed, built, and staged. Located on the first floor of the landmark building named for Thomas Hunter, it was beautifully renovated in 1998 and is extremely flexible and intimate, with modular seating accommodating 116 spectators in proscenium, thrust or arena arrangements. It has fully equipped men's and women's dressing rooms with showers, a state-of-the-art DAT/CD/tape sound system, a 96-channel computerized light board, and a full component of lighting instruments.
