Students who attend CUNY experience a top-notch education in the vibrant atmosphere of New York City. Living in CUNY campus housing ensures a quality and secure environment, easy access to college facilities and social events, and making the most of your college experience.

Some brand-new residence hall facilities and nearby dormitory buildings are currently available at The City College, Hunter College, and Lehman College. Future on-campus housing projects include:

The Summit at Queens College - a 506-person residence hall scheduled to open Fall 2009
Residence Hall Project at the College of Staten Island - a 600-person dormitory scheduled to open Summer 2010

Additionally, most CUNY colleges offer resources and referral services to help students find affordable off-campus housing and apartments in the general area of the college.

Brandon Residence for Women - The residents of this facility range from artists, teachers and business women to students. It is a traditional dormitory style facility with private furnished rooms with two bathrooms per floor. Rent is slightly over $1,000 and includes all utilities, linen as well as 2 meals per day. Laundry and kitchen facilities are available to residents as well as a communal space on the first floor to entertain guests. Brandon residence organizes several social events and provides 24 hours front-desk services.



Educational Housing Services (EHS) - Student housing available to all students in New York City. Offers housing throughout Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn. All facilities offer 24 hour building security, fully furnished rooms and amenities such as high speed internet access, unlimited local and long distance phone services, gym facilities, lounges, private bathrooms and refrigerators, prices range from $1500-$2000/month.





 

 

 

Roommate Click - This is a service offered by an agency independent of Baruch. It connects Baruch students with each other, providing them with an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. This service is available exclusively to Baruch Students. Roommate click also provides apartment listing which range in price. Baruch students can find two bedroom apartments for about $1200.



 


 

 

Housing Referral and Personal Counseling - Various housing options are offered in the college neighborhood. Landlords in the area communicate with Brooklyn College about housing availability. Brooklyn College maintains a housing database which is accessible through Brooklyn College portal. Students have access to pertinent information through this website such as tenant's rights and community resources. Brooklyn College also offers students with personal counseling services to help facilitate finding housing.



 

 

Office of Student Services Administration - This office provides student off-campus housing referral services. Students complete a student housing application for appropriate referrals to housing providers. This office also maintains a database of off-campus student housing options.

The Towers - The towers are a brand new residence hall facility located on the campus of City College of New York (CCNY). It is currently available to all City University of New York (CUNY) students and houses 600 students. As of the Fall 2009 semester it will be available exclusively to CCNY students. The towers range in price from $5,000-$7,000 per semester. This includes rent, all utilities, high speed internet access, wireless lounges, laundry facilities on-site, a fitness center, 24 hour service desk, seminar room, courtyard and patio area and kitchens and bathrooms in each unit.


 

 

Residence Hall Project - College of Staten Island (CSI) is scheduled to open its first dormitory facilities in the summer of 2010. The dorms at CSI will house 600 students.


Off-campus Housing - CSI provides its students with various resources to facilitate securing off-campus housing. These resources include a list of websites for student housing in Staten Island, links to community services as well as social functions in the area.



 

 

Residence Hall at Brookdale - Hunter College has a dormitory located at the Brookdale Health Sciences campus. This facility has 646 single-occupancy rooms. Students share a bathroom, kitchen and common area with floor mates. Facilities include tennis courts, swimming pools, game room and a basketball court.This housing option is available to undergraduate and graduate students. Students of Macaulay Honors College are guaranteed housing. Housing is available on a first come first serve basis for all other students. The average cost to live in the dorms at Brookdale is $3,500 a semester. Hunter also features a number of sources for alternative housing.

Lehman College Student Housing has a brand new 3-story building on Bedford Park Boulevard which serves as a dormitory for 19 Lehman students. There are 2 Resident Assistants as well as a Resident Dean on campus. The dorm includes both single and double rooms and students are selected through a lottery system.







 

 

Office of Student Life and Development - Serves as a general point of contact for students and their families regarding student life on campus and in the larger community.









 

 

Students at New York City College of Technology can visit the information services desk at their campus. Here they are provided with information on housing in the area, as well as student housing options. Students may also visit Educational Housing Services (EHS).








 

 

The Summit at Queens College - The summit is the residence hall that is scheduled to open for the Fall 2009 semester. This dormitory will have 506 beds, and amenities will include a fitness center, laundry facilities, lounges and much more. Students have the option of selecting single or double room occupancies. The average cost will be $4,250 for a double and $6,000 for a single per semester.
