Gender Equity Project

In 2008, the GEP received a second ADVANCE award from NSF, called Partnerships for Adaptation, Implementation and Dissemination (PAID). The Principal Investigators for the PAID award are: Virginia Valian, Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Linguistics, Hunter College and the Graduate Center; Vita Rabinowitz, Acting Provost, Hunter College; Annemarie Nicols-Grinenko, Director of Programs and Research, GEP and Hunter College; Jennifer Raab, President, Hunter College.

The PAID award will fund two major projects for faculty at Baruch, Brooklyn, City, Graduate Center, Hunter, John Jay, Lehman, Medgar Evers, New York City Tech, Queens, College of Staten Island, or York

  • A Workshop Series for Junior Faculty, open to all eligible faculty (women and men) in the natural and social sciences, mathematics and statistics, or engineering

  • A Grant Writing Assistance Program for women faculty in the natural and social sciences, mathematics and statistics, or engineering, planning to submit grant applications to federal funding agencies by February 2010
