Key to our mission of promoting research excellence is the creation and implementation of key University policies. These policies address a wide variety of research issues and regulatory requirements, spanning all areas of research at CUNY.
This website contains valuable information, resources and educational opportunities for conducting research within the CUNY community. Please visit this site regularly and/or contact your college representative to learn about research compliance activities and education programming.
RCR Training
As stated in the Federal Register (Vol. 76 No. 160), a new RCR training requirement became effective as a result of NSF's implementation of Section 7009 of the America Creating Opportunities to Meaningfully Promote Excellence in Technology, Education, and Science. This section of the Act requires that "each institution that applies for financial assistance from the Foundation for science and engineering research or education describe in its grant proposal a plan to provide appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research to undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers participating in the proposed research project".
