John Jay College

Since it was founded in 1964, John Jay College of Criminal Justice has become internationally-recognized as a leader in criminal justice education, training and research. Its innovative Master of Science in Protection Management provides advanced education in security protection systems, and it is a major center for the study of forensic science. The CUNY Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, administered by John Jay, is the nation's largest doctoral program in the field. John Jay's Lloyd George Sealy Library houses the premier criminal justice collection in the world.

The College administers the CUNY/NYPD Cadet program, in which CUNY students who have passed screening by the New York City Police Department receive training and practical experience before entering the Police Academy. The College also offers an off-campus Master's degree program in public administration at West Point.

Its biennial international crime conference series brings together experts from throughout the world to discuss crime on a global basis. In addition, the College publishes a newspaper, Law Enforcement News, and a journal, Criminal Justice Ethics.
