Dear Friends,
It is the great academic tradition of the City University of New York to provide educational excellence and opportunity to countless students who otherwise could not afford to pursue higher education.
CUNY not only stresses academic excellence, but also emphasizes the values of community. As a graduate of John Jay College for Criminal Justice, I will always cherish the opportunity I had there to gain the leadership skills needed to pursue my career in government and public service.
During these trying economic times, pursuing higher education may become more difficult. But the CUNY system has proven that higher education is not only for the elite, but can be accessible for everyone. I look forward to collaborating with CUNY in continuing to move New York City toward the future.
